Jojoland – these amazing yarns from China are noteworthy for their long complex color changes. Lynne discovered this yarn while in Texas, and knew we had to have it. Vermont Organic Fiber Company introduces a 50 – 50 cotton wool blend: O~Wool Balance yarn. 20 sts to 4 in/ 10 cm on US 6/ 4mm. Fabulous for baby clothes, with a wonderful tweedy palate to do summer weight color work . This yarn is perfect for those who care about sustainable produced fiber. The merino wool comes from organically raised, cruelty and pesticide free sheep in Australia. The cotton is organically grown in Texas, and the yarn is spun in Vermont and dyed with an eye to minimizing pollution (all natural dyes – not used here - often pollute more because the mordants are toxic pollutants.)
