Do you carry organic knitting yarn?
From the City Knits Newsletter "Urban Purls," October 2004

We have some environmentally sensitive yarn and some natural yarns. From a chemical perspective most all yarn is "organic" meaning it includes carbon.

Specifically, we carry natural cotton that is the color it grows, tan and sage as well as white - neither bleached nor dyed. We also have some natural alpaca - several colors plied together. We feature specialty yarn made from Bamboo and tofu whey, as well as yarn known as Aloo, hand spun in Nepal from the nettle plant.

We can't tell you definitely whether the fiber is grown pesticide and chemical free (probably not) and most of the dyes are synthetic chemicals, not from natural dye plants. But remember, even naturally dyed fibers rely on chemicals, mostly heavy metal mordants.
